Unhappy Help!! yellow chalk marking lines not coming out!

Is there any way to remove them? Washed in cold water and it didn't touch it. I have to deliver this quilt on Sunday.

I had this happen with a Chaco yellow chalk marker. I emailed the company and they suggested mixing 5 parts water with one part vinegar, apply with soft cloth or soft tooth brush to remove. It worked for me. I hope this helps. Test it first on an inconspicuous spot.

Good luck! I had my SHOW quilt stained by yellow chalk used by my LAQ. She had used the chalk on many previous quilts with no problems. After consulting with my LQS owners, we concluded it was the combination of the fabric in my quilt and the chalk. It's still stained years later, nothing worked.

Another factor could be different treatments ... starch, best press, sizing etc. vs. not.

A hint for removing chalk ... I use a lint brush and whisk it away. I'd be hesitant in using water as a first go-to, for fear of setting any colour into the quilt. I would think that JanRN's suggestion from the company would be "in case of emergency" and not as the first thing to do.

It's a reminder to all ... test test test and test again ... and don't put full trust in someone telling you what happens for them. There can be differences from one to the other that can make the difference to success and failure, all too easily!
