I will be making a quilt for my Granddaughter. She would like it to be Pink and Black. Do you have any suggestion on a quilt block or two that I could use. Have thought about the card trick. Help.

Thanks Tina

Pinks and Blacks in the cards on a white background would be pretty. :D:D:D

Hi and welcome to the board.

This quilt may give you some good ideas. One of our other members is doing it for breast cancer. It is pink but easy to imagine replacing some the colors with black or doing pink blocks with black sashing. I have also seen some lovely fabrics that are pink and black.

I am working on one for my DGD in Black, White and dark pink. I am using(black and light and dark pink) solids and black & white prints as well as a polkadot black with hot pink dots. I have used 4 inch blocks set on point. Takes some time but is turning out cute. The outside blocks are hot pink so I will probably outline in black.still not all together but I will post a pic when I am finished.

What about a double Irish chain. Use which ever is her favorite color as the focal fabric.

This blog will probably have a lot of inspiration for you (I particularly like the log cabin)

This is a quilt I made for Quilt For Kids using pinks and black.
I just did a large star in the center and added to it with little stars in the corners. I didn't use a pattern.

I made a quilt once in pinks and blacks as a housewarming gift using sqs surrounded by rectangles, very easy piecing and worked up fast!

The card trick is one of my favorite blocks. I think it would be perfect to set off the pink and the black. Whatever you decide, please post a pic when you are done I would love to see it.
