My long arm quilter daughter recently did a black and white for a customer. They wanted a little 'zing'. So she quilted it with red thread. Wow! sublte but spicy. The customer loved it.

Here's another fun way to use black and whites. I have wanted to make a Baltimore Album quilt for a while. There will be a total of 9 hexagonal blocks with half triangles to fill in the gaps.

I'm making a black and white modified rail fence quilt as a bedspread for my son. He only wanted black and white, otherwise it would be "too quilty". But when I pointed out I could put a little red in that, he thought it would be cool. But I've seen some just black and white quilts that are amazing.

I've done an all black and white quilt and was very pleased with it as were the recipients. Now I'm doing another one and am thinking I should add a third color just because of the layout and blocks in this one. But do what the quilt tells you to do........you will know if you need a third color or not.

That's what Pat Campbell always said...I think...or maybe it was magenta...of fushia. Sorry, I guess I'm babbling.

Pink used to be my favorite color to go with black/white. Now I am hung up on bright lime green.

Sometimes it's hard to choose between the two. ;-) These are 2 Mystery quilts (from, like, 7 or 8 years ago).

Think teal! That is a great AZ color and it looks wonderful with the black and white
