Sounds as if you just need a new bobbin case. Check the Janome website and get the one for your machine. Problem should be solved.
I have the Janome 6650 and the 1600P and love them both.

The way you describe it "bouncing around" makes me think that the thread is catching on something. If it were a regular bobbin in a bobbin case, I'd suggest you check to make sure the bobbin case is still round - sometimes if you drop it, it will get a tiny bit out of round, not enough so you'd notice, but enough that it makes a difference. But since it's a drop-in bobbin, I don't know what to tell you, other than to second what Annette said.

Regarding the bouncing table... even "sturdy" tables can sometimes bounce a tiny bit. I found that when I moved my machine so that it wasn't directly in the center of the table, but rather sitting on top of one of the legs to my right, it didn't bounce.

I had to buy a new bobbin case for my Janome 6500 as it just plum wore out.

I have had my Memory Craft Janome 6600 for 8 years and have never had a problem with it that I couldn't fix. Just little things like keeping it clean, especially the bobbin case and giving it a drop of oil in the bobbin case right in the center where a little hole is. I use any plastic bobbins, just no metal ones. With the 9" harp space, I do all my own FMQ even a king size. It can be a challenge sometimes wrestling with all that fabric, but is doable. Good luck in your hunt.

I'm happy and mad all at the same time right now....

I got the new bobbin case on Sat afternoon, ran 2 scrap jelly roll pieces through and it seemed fine. Sewed a bit yesterday and a bit today and guess what?!?!?! It didn't bounce all over!! It didn't rattle and make noises. After almost $275 in cleaning/repairs (the cleaning probably wasn't even really needed, he said it was very clean for a 7 year old machine that's never been professionally cleaned) and repairs again a few months later, and having the guy tell me it's user error, I came here upset that I sucked at sewing and that there was something wrong with how I sew and that my machine that couldn't be diagnosed/fixed. You wonderful people suggested the bobbin case, I posted this thread after reading another thread on here about bobbin case issues hoping you ladies could help me too!, and you did!! I could have saved all that money getting it repaired for him to not fix it at all and just come here, listen to you guys and spend only $35 and have it all fixed!

And yes, as soon as I can get there, I do also plan on getting to Joann's and buying some oil for the machine since I honestly don't think he oiled the wick when I took it in the last time. I think with that it'll help it even more, even though it's not moving around in there at all. I think with me oiling the wick occasionally and how much I clean it I think it'll be good for a long time to come (knock on wood, it is a digital machine after all.)

I'd also double-check your manual re: oiling instructions. I had a smaller Brother that didn't have ANY oiling instructions in the manual, I asked the tech about it and he said my specific machine was sealed and didn't need oiling.

Oh trust me, I'd kind of like to, especially since I asked about ordering me a bobbin case just as another thing to try and he never got back to me. But he blamed using C&C thread, schmetz needles (and possibly my not inserting them all the way), and user error. He talked about needles hitting the part under the case, and when I told him I have only broken 2 needles since I've been sewing (since 1987 on and off) he didn't really believe me. I said it's only been two and both were within the last 5 years or so and were both due to top stitching on denim seams (which I don't do any more), and both points had to be yanked out of the fabric, nothing ever got into the machine and he just kind of looked at me.

And Lady Diana, yup I got it at Ken's. It came in a clear plastic bag with nothing on it and I got worried it was a knockoff since it didn't come in any kind of packaging, but everyone says his stuff is legit so I'm just kind of trusting it is.

Yeah my machine says nothing about oiling it, but people on here all suggest to put one small drop of oil on the wick (under the bobbin case) occasionally.
