I found two websites that sell the "curly comb spines". You can get it in clear plastic. Check it out. Hope this helps.

I will bet kinkos sells them to...thanks for the websites!
I think i would glue it down on a piece of wood..otherwise it would be pretty flimsy

If you didn't pay a fortune for your thimble, take a hammer and whack it so it becomes a slightly oval shape at the bottom. It will fit your finger perfect and not fall off.
