I have the one from Joanns and used the coupon. I like it. One word of advice if you have a Viking machine and use the green bobbins.

You have to purchase the PINK sidewinder and put the bobbin on it UPSIDE DOWN. Viking bobbins wind in the opposite direction as the other brands.

Yes, this is true. I found this out the hard way after I'd already purchased a "Sidewinder" at JoAnns. Did not work with my Pfaff Therefore, I have a brand new Sidewinder that I would like to sell. Anyone interested in buying? I payed over $20 for it brand new and would like to sell for $10 plus cost to ship. PM me if interested.

I did the same thing but I do have a Featherweight and the bobbin winder works great for it. My Grand Quilter from Pfaff has its own built in bobbin winder and so does my Brother Embroidery machine and I love that feature.

I bought one at Joanns and it didn't wind them right so I took it back.

I just picked one up at an estate sale this past weekend but it doesn't have instructions. Looking forward to figuring out how it works.

I have the small sidewinder from Joanne's & love it. My machine makes funny noises when winding bobbins so this is perfect. I like the fact that it uses batteries or plugs in.

Maybe you should make an offer to someone that posted they don't care for theirs. Keep in mind cost + postage vs. Joanne's price with coupon.

Don't use mine for personal work much, as my Viking bobbins don't fit. Used it all the time with some of the other machines. Now, however, I use it in the classroom setting. When we're teaching 15-25 people, it helps if we don't have to stop to re thread the machines. We have a Parkinson volunteer who doesn't sew, so she fills the bobbins. A real time saver.

Went online and the Wright's bobbin winder that Joanns sells is listed at $20. If a person used JoAnn's 40% coupon, that would bring the cost down to $12 and then add sales tax to that .... so, close to $13 in the end.

That said, I'm willing to take $8 for my bobbin winder .... I'm quite sure that it wouldn't cost $5 to ship.
