Hi everyone,
I want to thank you so much for all your ideas and help while I was trying to find a book title "The Liberated Quilter" by Gwen Marston.
Well...with some help from Betty I have actually spoken with Gwen at her home in Michigan. What a delight Gwen is. We even chatted for a while. I now have the book on the way. At less that the $80.00 the stores on the web quoted me. She is going to autograph it for me too. My friend will love it. It is true when they say it is more fun to give. I can hardly wait to mail it to my friend.
Thanks again everyone for your help. Thank you Betty. You are the best!!!
Jean

I'm so glad you found the book after your long search. What a bonus to speak to Gwen personally and get an autographed book to boot! You did capture the Holy Grail!!!!

Congratulations! I have had the opportunity of meeting quilt designers on the phone, online and in person. I always trip over my tongue for a bit, but find that they are all willing to share. Quilters Rock!!!!!!!

Hi Boo.. Thanks for the note. I have become acquainted with Libby Lehman Alex Anderson and a few others. Working at a quilt show makes that easy. I will say Libby is great. What a clown when she wants to be.
I guess what surprised me was being able to call Gwen at home. She was just so sweet after weeding in the garden. Most quilt people are very sweet and willing to help you or just chat. I wonder what gene we carry that makes that so.
Take care my friend,
Jean

Hey Ruth..what a good idea. I will see if we have one in our library also. That would sure give me an excuse to talk to her again.
Have a good week-end.
