Looking at the picture the colours are a bit too light. The pics I posted before are what they really are. The yellow isn't that yellow, it's darker, more a gold. Fabric #3 is the same as fabric #9 but because it's batik and has many colours it seems to be a different one.

Hello Ladies!
Glad to see you are finding your fabrics Anael. You';ve got a great bunch of fabrics ... and I really like that yellow pop!
And then there's YukViv with her fabrics already finalized!!!

I really should be getting the new thread started ... we should be doing all that chatter about fabric picking there, so that others who join us will have the benefit of it. When my brain clears a bit in the next few days, I'll start the thread and see if we can rally some to join us for the ongoing Mystery.

I picked up my basic instructions today and am all excited about getting at it ... but first I have promised myself a major tidy up in my sewing room. I like the suggestion in the instructions to pick #9 first .... and then build from there, so I'm already thinking about what is in my stash that just might be my #9!! I saw a perfect fabric at my LQS ... but I'm WANTING to do this with my stash. We'll see what I come up with.

You'll be pros at putting together the set by the time I start trying to put mine together and will be able to sort it out for me in quick order! There are benefits in being late!! And will make for some discussion when I finally get the new thread going.

YukViv ... when do you get your first set of instructions for cutting and sewing? We get ours soon after Oct 15th. I''m SO hoping that we'll be somewhat synchronized on the timing and then that'll make it easier for us to pace each other !!

I substituted fabric # 5 for another one but I'm still not happy. Maybe a trip to the LQS is due!

Such a lovely group ... though I don't have my mind wrapped around the instructions re choices yet ... I remember it saying that certain #s were the same colours, though different fabrics. And how one popped, which must be the yellow, right? And that #9 could be the same as another # (which?) or atleast played well together. etc etc.

Choices: fabric # 3 bridges colours between fabrics 1, 6 and 8. Light print that has to coordinate with fabric 1 and 6.
Fabric 3 and 9 can be the same (which I did)
Fabric # 5 can be substituted with fabric 4
Fabric # 6 is the sparkle - mine is the yellow

Maybe I should have another look at fabric # 3 because that isn't a light print but it's the same as fabric # 9. Boy this is hard

Take a look at their samples and see how yours compares.
When I saw it IRL, I really got it and could see what they wanted done.

And there's no rush being that we won't have the first set of instructions for a couple weeks ... set it aside and then perhaps you'll have a fresh start to decide at that time.

Hi there!!!!

We don't get our first cutting instructions till the second saturday in November. Our reveal for the last quilt is in two weeks though....yay! From what I hear the local long armers have been busy quilting these mystery quilts up in time for the review. I'm only going to have the top to take to the reveal as I need some backing fabric. I hate buying backing fabric LOL, it always feels like it's so expensive for the back of the quilt. I may just do muslin.

Oh darn ... I'll be getting my clues ahead of you again ... this is not good!
Maybe I'll just lag behind our group and stick with you, being that we don't meet IRL and just go to the LQS when the clues arrive, whenever we wish to pick the clues up.

Yay...I now have my first clue.

I did some revamping of my fabric line up now that I've met with our leader...she's a whiz at fabric, seriously, she is amazing. And with her help I removed a couple of busier fabrics and added something else that really made it go bam! Plus there was a new bolt of stripey fabric that was just perfect with my colour scheme...I had to include it.

So I will start a new thread tomorrow with my new photos...and let's get this puppy going! Wahoo!

Anael, did you get all signed up and when do you think you'll be getting your first clue? I'm so excited.

Looking forward to your new photos! I could use some advice on the fabrics!
QuiltE signed me up and I'm getting the clues in the mail, meaning I will be behind all the time but that's ok with me.
