I need ideas for a border with curves. I need to use two fabrics; the middle (focus) and two outside edges of a contrast fabric. I have seen it done with the fabrics laying rights sides up and then gentel curves cut on each side leaving the outside edges straight not sure what to do next. The unfinished piece needs to be 4 1/2 inches wide. If there is a site that explains the tech would love to get it from one of you. Have searched but not finding what I need. I am in a local round robin and this is what is required this month to be put on the block. Next swap is this coming Saturday.....yea I have been working on something else.....now I am in a slight bind. Last minute Connie at it again!

All sugguestions an info will be greatly appreciated

Hi Connie. I love curves and use them often for the motion they generate. I think maybe this is what you are looking for. These instructions are for very simple curves on each side, but if you cut an "S" curve or something more complex, the piecing works the same way if you just treat each section of the curve separately. If the curves are shallow (a quarter circle or less), I do not clip them, just ease them. Thank You Nor'Easter. That site was exactly what I was looking for. The only thing different is that I will be cutting long strips for the for borders and doing this tech.. I will let you know how this works out with Pics when done.
