Default To Border or Not to Border, that is the question?

Have hummed and hawed for two hours as to whether or not to put a border on this quilt. I checked Pinterest and most of them are not bordered. Thoughts.

There is so much energy in this super-cool quilt! I think it needs a border to contain it--maybe a little wider than the width of the strips, or wider than that if you like. But yes, a border.

I agree. A border is needed.

I disagree. I think binding is all it needs. I would do a dark solid or use scraps from the quilt to make a coordinating binding. I love the vivid pattern!

What a great quilt! I don't think it needs a border.

It's wonderful just as it is. I don't think it needs a border.

It is laying on a solid color spread/quilt/comforter - and I like the look of the solid color around the top.

I also like the blue that is behind it on the bed. I am also debating borders on a top, do I want mitered corners, straight across corners or maybe a block in 2 corners....still can’t decide.

I personally would like to see a white border on it. In a white to make the blocks more stable and to make the blocks float. Also to be able to repair it easily if it should last long enough to need it. To me the old adage, form follows function has always worked.
