I wouldn't put borders on it, either.
I would also NOT put a binding on it. There are a couple of finishes that would do it - one is the 'knife'edge' - it's rather a PIDA (pain in the armpit) to do - or the 'pillowcase' method.

I am putting two purple borders...one lighter than the other. I should get that done today, and then I will post a picture here. Thank you all for your ideas!!
