Welcome to the board - see how awesome this place is??
You can also go to your LQS for some help in measurements and conversions if you are not a mathematical whiz !

I searched and there doesn't appear to be a pattern for this design. Therefore I would have to graft it out.
I would start with probably Eleanor Burns Lone Star design for the center Get some very large graft paper and then graft out to determine the size of the corners. The important part is making the squares and triangles in the corners in even increments. This can be achieved by adding narrow borders between the center and the corners.

Hi Terri! Welcome from Texas ... I've never done that pattern but also planning to make a quilt for my youngest son's wedding. I haven't settled on a pattern yet. I'd love to see yours as you progress.

I doubt it's the same family. This family is mainly in Oregon (I think - I'm fairly new to it).

Thanks for the advise. I'll take it!! I have a book coming that supposed to help with the Lone Star construction, and I've found directions for strip piecing it, which seems an easy way to go.

I'll try to remember to post pictures. Alison, my future DIL, likes forestry-greens and white. I'm very anxious to get going on it. Look out fabric store!!!

That is a beautiful quilt. And you do have time to ponder and choose the fabrics, etc. Keep us posted.
