I have several scraps, sewn into block strips, left over from my Big Blue quilt. Have any of you ever taken rows of blocks, cut them into smaller strips, and rearranged as a bargello quilt? That's what I'm toying with doing. It would be at most a twin, maybe even smaller, possibly turning into a wall hanging. I hate to cut the wide strips into smaller ones only to hate it and have wasted all that fabric. Do I just go for it? :)

Have fun with it! You could also use them as a border around another pieced block to make a matching pillow! :)

Check out these and see if either of them will help with your question. Bonnie Hunter has a lot of patterns for scrappy quilts. I have made several of them and really like using my scraps.

i think it sounds like a fun idea. after all, many of the newest quilt designs just take a block and cut it in sections to be sewn together. examples: D9P, twister. be sure to post a pic if you do it.

Yes, I've made a bargello with scraps. I will admit it was quite frustrating at the time, being I had never made a bargello before! But I did get it finished, and my granddaughter loves it!
