I'm trying to start a quilt for my 3 year old son. I love the look of pottery barn, but i can't seem to find any pattern where there might be some trucks or cars on there. i don't necessarily want a traditional repetitive quilt, but something with large blocks, and a few appliqued trucks (gasp, applique! i said it out loud! i've NEVER appliqued) anyways,
i have a quilt in mind that i found at pottery barn, but i really would like some kind of pattern to get me started.
thanks for reading! :)
p.s. it seems anything quilting related for boys is a hard find, so if any of you can direct me in the right path... :)

I know I have found applique train quilts patterns for free online. Google- free train quilt pattern. You will find a lot of great sites to check out along the way.

Also- how are you artisticly- can you draw some outline shapes to applique? Have fun designing your own.

http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/kid_quilts.htm

this is a fatcats kid's pattern. they only do the barest outline for applique, but it's easy enough to figure it out.

are you doing machine applique or needleturn?

coloring book pages are great places to get applique patterns. Just trace the parts you want. you can get quite a variety.

Welcome!
Please hold your water....it might splash and stain your fabric....hahaha  As far as the fabrics...you can probally find similar fabrics at most fabric shops. Take the pictures with you and have fun! This really is a great place to learn and share ideas!
