I ordered one from Connecting Threads when it was on sale. I works great. I've been using the same blade for months now. I sharpen it first before I use it for the day so I don't know if it ever gets dull. I generally cut four layers. If the blade has a nick I usually toss it.

i'd just rather put a new one in.... cost of the sharpener and materials use in it vs some thin metal blades. i think i;m ahead in the green aspect

I have a "manual" one that is made by Dritz. I've used it often and it really works as long as there aren't nicks in the blade. If you aren't wanting to put out a lot of money, I'd recommend this one. It has two sides that you rub your blade on. The course side removes "small burrs and dull spots" from your blade and the fine side sharpens it right up. I've sharpened the blade I'm using right now numerous times and it still works great! There is a holder with handles that you put your blade in so you can easily twist it on the sharpening stones. Saves me more $$$ than it cost me.
