I just recently got this machine, I've embroidered quite a bit of stuff on bags for my kids... although I do have a couple of questions if anybody is familiar and can answer.

First of all, can I do a design, say mickey mouse and a name stitched all at the same time, instead of doing them separate and having to move the hoop?

Second question, can I do more than one word at a time, I can't seem to find a space to put in between words.

I don't know that you can do the mickey mouse and a name at the same time or not? BUT...what you could do is select your mickey mouse and then go to adjust and move it to the top of the hoop area...then, when you finish it, you could do the name and adjust it to the lower area of the hoop. You could do that all without taking the hoop off.

I haven't tried to do more than one word at a time. I'm still just learning, and it sounds like you're ahead of me! If I do find out anything more, though, I will let you know.

Thanks for the answer, I'm also having a problem when I embroider words, they never come out straight! They're always slanted a little. Any advice? I need to get a smaller hoop, I have some mini totes, and I tried to embroider one and I couldn't bend the back of the bag back, and so I tried it and ended up sewing the bag shut, LOL.

Slanted words? hmmmm. are you choosing the font that is a bit italicized? Maybe the thread tension needs adjusted a bit or maybe the material in the hoop isn't tight enough. I don't know!
Sewing the bag shut sounds like a trick I would do! LOL!
Cute baby, too! I have two!

I'm having trouble setting the hoop straight, I try to use that guide, but when I look at it, it's never perfectly straight.

HI THERE. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME? MY HUBBY BOUGHT ME A SE 270 DISNEY EMBROIDERY MACHINE FOR CHRISTMAS AND I LOVE IT. I HAVE SEWN SOME DIAPER BAGS AND PUT MICKEY AND MINNIE ON THEM. THEY ARE SO CUTE SO I THOUGHT I WOULD EXPLORE A LITTLE MORE AND BOUGHT THE PED SOFTWARE FOR THE MACHINE. I FOUND SOME REAL CUTE PES FORMAT EMBROIDERY DESIGNS AND DOWNLOADED THEM TO MY COMPUTER AND I AM HAVING SO MUCH TROUBLE GETTING THEM TO COME UP ON MY MACHINE. WHEN THE SOFTWARE IS ON THE COMPUTER IT SAYS IT'S ON THE CARD THEN WHEN I INSERT THE CARD INTO THE MACHINE IT SAYS THERE IS NOTHING ON IT. I'VE TRIED THREE DIFFERENT DESIGNS AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING. I EVEN EXCHANGED MY SOFTWARE THINKING MAYBE IT WAS THAT. NO LUCK SO FAR AND I'M GETTING VERY DISCOURAGED. MY MACHINE HAS BEEN TAKEN GOOD CARE OF AND I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SLOT ON THE SIDE OF THE MACHINE WHERE THE CARD GOES IN SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO. ANYONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM OR KNOW WHAT ELSE I SHOULD TRY? AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE WHEN I DOWNLOADED THE IMAGE ONTO MY COMPUTER IT WAS IN A ZIP FOLDER SO I USED WINZIP TO FIX THAT PROBLEM. I USED TO SEW ALL THE TIME ON A REGULAR MACHINE BUT AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE EMBROIDERY PART OF THIS MACHINE SO PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN! THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! :)

After reading about what you have to go through I'm glad I got the Signer Futura CE100. All I have to do is plug it into my computer and open the program and go. I don't need to get any other softwar or cards. I just download any designs I want to my computer. My machine recognizes all these formats FHE CHE XXX PSW PEC PES HUS SEW EXP DST and PCS
and I can still be on the computer reading the message board like I am now. I happen to have a design embroidering as I write. I took awhile looking and reading before I decide on this one. OH I did buy an extra set of hoops so while one is working I have the next ready to go save a lot of ime.

JODI: I don't know. Sorry. I can't even get the program to work for unzipping files on my computer. You should call brother. I bet they'd be more than willing to help. Let me know what you find out. Here are the numbers: (901)379.1010 1.866.236.6835

I had a similar problem but not exact. I bought a new printer but couldn't get the software to download. I thought there was a problem with the printer so I took it back. A very nice young man there told me it could be my AOL antivirus control. My computer saw it as problem coming in so it didn't allow it to download. What I had to do was go in and disable the antivirus, it has an on/off control. Just turn it off temperarily, download your software, then go back and turn it on. I don't know it this will solve your problem but it's worth a try.
