I have a chart for everyone I want to make a quilt for plus any other quilt I want to make just because. Next to it I have their colors, likes and dislikes and even a pattern in mind for them. I also list whether I have the backing for it too. Then I write their names on a piece of paper, throw it in a basket and when I ready to make a new quilt I pull out a name and that's the next quilt I make. Everyone once in a while I might bump up a quilt or two but normally I go with the name pulling. So far my name hasn't come up so my beds do not have a quilt on them yet......

PIGS and Brain Bunnies? Great ideas here. Thx for sharing. I really intend to do kits because I set fabric bundles aside and then forget what I wanted to make with them.

I'm an "all of the above" person. When I renewed my quilting interest several years ago, I went all in, gung ho! I have the Farmer's Wives book, and several blocks started, but put on hold. I have the Beloved Baltimore book...way over my skill level! I have computer files of someday quilts. I have a file of patterns to do. I have several quilts kitted, just waiting to be done. I have tons of ideas rolling around in my brain bubbling to the surface. I have totes filled with fabric I had to have, because it spoke to me. I have 4 magazine holders filled with books and magazines with sticky notes flagging the quilts I want to make. I'll never get them all done! As I finish up on the quilt I'm working on, I start to think about what I want to do next, what my options are, and go from there.

I have a few things in my head - mostly to try something I haven't done before. I don't have much of a stash and I quilt for my own pleasure, so, one at a time as they interest me. I guess that is my bucket list, such that it is.

I also do what luvstoquilt does. I have lots of pattern filled binders, lots of bookmarked ideas, lots of kits I have assembled with a pattern I want to do, a few store bought kits...
for those who want to know what PIGS are...Projects In Grocery Sacks. Brain Bunnies? Don't know. I have a guess...

I have a bucket list .. sort of... but it resides in my head. Same for other things I want to do before I die.

I’ve bought my stash fabrics in groups, a set of charms with enough coordinating fabric for a border or two, a jelly roll with coordinates, etc. of the fabrics I really liked, I got enough for more than one project. I guess I’m more fabric driven than pattern driven. Maybe that will change with time and experience.

I have a file of "interesting quilts" that have caught my eye. Some I may make, some I may use just for a jumping off point. Every couple of months or so I go through the file and look at the pictures for inspiration, and if one doesn't catch my fancy at that time, I delete it.
As it is, I'll have to live to 387 years old to finish what I've already collected, LOL!

This is why my Pinterest boards are huge! I pin the things that catch my eye for the general pattern, specific pattern, color combo or general inspiration...when and if I ever run out of current projects (bwahahahah!)I have a huge 'inspiration book' to look at.
