Are you signed up for emails from Accuquilt because there have been a few times where the studio has been on sale for about a 1/3rd of that price. Not sure if it had the starter pack but for that price you can buy the dies.

Are you talking about a GO or an Acuquilt cutter?? 183.00 for the acuqilt cutter is good but I have one and have never figured out how to use it! If I had a shop and wanted to sell kits it would be great!
You have to have a good space for it and all the die(s)! I never could figure out how to use it and justify all the scraps
Still have mine and do hope when I retire I can figure out how to use it properly! 18 months!!!!

A GO is an Accuquilt cutter. Maybe your are thinking a Studio? I'm not sure what you can't figure out, but please ask questions because you will love it once you use it. 18 months is way to long to not use it. LOL We are here to help. The GO you really don't need much space and there is very little waste of scraps. Again ask any questions.

I have the Go and LOVE it.I have several of the geometric and and curved pieced dies. I have issues with my hands and can only use the rotary cutter so long. I love the accurracy and the cut off points. It makes piecing the blocks sew much easier. One of my favourite dies is Alex Andersons Baskets. I wish there was a larger size. My girlfriend and I both have one and frequently purchase different dies so that we can share unless it is one that we both will use alot, then we both buy it.

It is worth the money and more.

I bought my Go at Joann's when it was on sale at Christmas time. I have the 8 inch square die, the 8 inch rag square die, the six inch square die, the 2 inch strip cut die and the die set it came with. I love it! I've made rag quilts using the 8 inch rag square die and cut the batting with the six inch square die. Very nice not having to snip the blocks. I got the 2 inch strip cut die set at Joann's and it was marked down to $30. I use it to cut strips from all my scraps to make scrappy quilts and log cabin blocks. If you register your machine at Accuquilt you get emails with "daily deals" and I've purchased additional dies that are up to 75% off. I just finished a rag quilt for my daughter and just cut six inch blocks for a snowball quilt. It was well worth the money for me.

Also check with your local quilt shop. My LQS has the studio and the dies and you can take your material there and use their dies to cut your fabric. They charge a very minimal fee (like $5 for an hour...you can cut up a lot of material in an hour!).

I have the accuquilt Go I got it when accuquilt was doing a sale with the tote & die set, I paid $330? I believe they messed up my order & sent wrong die but graciously let me keep it & sent out right one so I was a happy camper. I have about 4 dies now but they're amazing when u go to cut out a quilt & it's done in a matter of 30 min or less.

I have the Accuquilt Go! and I love it for the accurate strips, blocks, etc. But I absolutely ADORE it for the dies I just bought - Critters, Rose of Sharon and Round Flower. I've been working on the West of Baltimore applique quilt since 2007 and just got the point where I have to cut out baskets & flowers for four 27" square blocks and four 11" x 34" (i think) connecting strips. OMG! it involved more tracing & cutting out flowers than all the other 12 blocks, or so it seemed. Yesterday, I did some creative cutting (not same as pattern) and using my new dies I have all the flowers/leaves cut for 4 blocks. It's soooooo worth the price of the dies. I really wanted to complete this quilt before I die &/or go blind...... Now I can actually see the end of the quilt. That is right after I piece a quilt for a dear friend and a granddaughter for their wedding showers.
