It may come down to like Office Depot does. You take the paper tag to check out & they get the product out of the lock up for you.
Well actually my nephew had a problem in ellementary school with a bully always stealing his goodie out of the nephew's lunch box. His family replaced the chocolate treat with something that was chocolate but was really a lacative. That cured that bully kid!

Had that problem once many years ago. So I made a very luscious looking chocolate covered cup cake and put it in my lunch. Lunch time came and no cupcake. So watched for the next few hours to see who did a quick step to the rest room.
I found that Ex-Lax worked nicely when warmed slightly and spread on top of a plain cupcake.
Don't know if it has chocolate in it now or not, but that might work again these days.

It does amaze me to read all of these posts and to think about the people who do these things. How they can sleep at night is beyond me. A few years ago I went through the drive-thru of a local fast food place and my daughter was me (she was about 14 at the time). The cashier at the window gave me back $10 too much in change so I handed it back to her and said "I think you gave me back too much money." She thanked me and we drove on. A moment later my daughter said "That was nice of you." I told her that it wasn't mine, so I had no right to keep it. And if the cashier came up short in her drawer, then she might have been fired. Maybe I'm from a different time or something, but it would eat at me otherwise.

It's incredible how cleaver some people get when they want sometihng for nothing. I'm assuming you are going to return it.
To bad you have to go back again but it sounds like there was no way you could have known about the theft until you got home.

After our discussion about getting 45mm blades at Harbor Freight, I went to one.....they did not have the blades, but they had the carpet cutter that they fit into, plus three blades in the package. Because they had told me they had the blades before driving out of my way to get there, the sold me the cutter and the blades for the same price as the two blades.....so I got three blades in each package....so I thought...I checked them at the register and guess what. All thee blades were missing out of two of the packages.....Do quilters really use that many blades that they purchase them with coupons?
Also, beware of ladies standing at the security sensor area when you leave the department store. I had an arm full of clothes and was walking out of Macy's and I set off the alarm.
The clerk checked all of my clothes....no sensors..then she said, walk through again. I did and it didn't go off! Then she asked if there was anyone who walked out with me and I said, yes, a lady was standing at the door and walked out in front of me....she said, she stole something.....Amazing!

But I'm not laughing b/c it's really disgusting how low ppl will go to get something free.
