I'm making a quilt for a client that has some velvet in it. She likes stippling. Can you stipple on velvet? How does it look?
Thank you for your advise in advance

I think I'd try a sample piece using very fine thread top and bottom for the stippling.

It might leave track marks but they can be fluffed up using a nap brush.

i've quilted on velvet- the quilting really stands out on the velvet...and it was a bit stretchy but went ok...was a customer quilt- she bordered a turning 20 quilt with black velvet---and quilted it with verigated thread (hey---thats a whole other topic---quilting with verigated) anyhow---
would not have been my choice- but i never would have used it for the border in the first place...but she loves it and that's what counts. use a longer stitch than normal- and i would do a pretty (loose) stipple...nothing real tight.
