Default Free Motion Bobbin Work with a Janome 6600

Does anyone do free motion bobbin quilting with a 6600P? All the info out there seems to be based on other types of machine with bobbin cases with screws, etc..????? Thanks

Yes definitely ... I FMQ'd with my 6600.

Unless "bobbin work" is different to Free Motion Quilting?

I do FMQ on my 6600. I know from the Yahoo Group that some users adjust their bobbin case screw, but i haven't touched mine.

Do you mean bobbin work where you hand wind thicker threads onto the bobbin? My Bernina has a special bobbin case for doing that. I have no experience with a Janome.

I FMQ with my Janome 6600P. I use the special bobbin case for FMQ--it makes a lot of difference in getting the tension right. I would rather change the bobbin case than mess with adjusting the bobbin tension.

I just finished something using Razzle Dazzle in the bobbin. No special bobbin case, used my 6600, no problem. Go slow. If you go to superiorthreads.com, go to educational video then video #10 for info. I don't remember exactly if this info I just gave you is in the right order, but there is a video by Cindy Needham about bobbin work.

There is a special bobbin case for fmq, and I just used it yesterday for the first time ( only have had my 6600P for 3 months. I found it easy to use too. Actually I just love my 6600P and can't wait to finish the quilt and be on to another project.

Murphy ... the more you use your 6600, the more you will love it. Did you also get the special FMQ foot package, with three interchangeable feet? That along with the blue dot bobbin case is what got me hooked on FMQing.
