Canadian Quilters Out There running businesses
#1
Hi everyone...
At this time I am mostly looking to get research info from the Canadian quilters here who are running businesses from there homes. I am in the process of researching the steps to getting a business tax number. I have realized that I have spent alot of money through many quilt shops paying retail price for fabrics and other supplies needed to sell my designs and knowing if I had a tax number I could order my supplies wholesale.
I could do with lots of advice and suggestions.
Cheers!

I ran a business out of my home, although it wasn't a quilting business, the requirements are the same. I had to register my business name, which generated a PST number, I also had to register and apply for a GST number. Because I was running it out of my home, I had to apply for and get a business license from the township.
It's a hassle getting everything arranged and in place, but once it's all done you are good to go! :)
Good luck Aggi :)
