Nope, not kidding. They say that chocolate and coffee, among other things, are going to go sky high. One article that I read said that chocolate could go to $10 a pound!

If you can vacuum pack it, store it in the freezer. Stays fresh that way when you open it. Also, make small packages to out smart yourself when you thaw to eat.

And one of the African countries on the Ivory Coast have stopped exporting their cocoa beans so that too is putting a huge strain on chocolate availability. Their beans, apparantly, are used for the higher % bitter chocolate too, so that will hit me hard, but I guess it is time to cut back and lose some pounds!

My thought exactly (New England brain cells). When I stock up on sale candy, I hide it in the freezer. However, be sure to double wrap in freezer paper, and write "Chicken Hearts" or "Liver" on the outside to keep out the family snackers.

They probably misunderstood...it was a cotton shortage but hey...cotton...chocolate...a shortage is a disaster either way!!!!

I heard the same thing..... how will we survive??? More importantly, how will those around us survive when we can't get our fix????

I am diabetic so I seldom have it anyway.If I have it around I eat too much.So might be a good thing for me.
