I was given an old Singer in a nice cabinet/table. I don't know anything about this machine or if it works. The only numbers I can find is one on the top of the base AE556730 and the number 4 on the bottom side of the base. Where do I find out what I have?

It appears you have a model 15 produced on June 16, 1937 at Elizabeth, New Jersey. Congrats!!!

If you get it working it will last a long, long time. And it sews absolutely straight, which any of the more modern ones do not.
    Congratulations!!

I have to do some rearranging and clean it to get a picture.
When we get through remodeling my sewing area I plan on posting a picture of all of it.
