I don’t think a lack of green is a problem, but I don’t think the tan reads quite holiday. Maybe a gold or silver or perhaps a tan fabric with slight hints of green

I love your block. It is beautiful and can be for Christmas or any other time of year.

If you don't like red and green together, don't use the green! Make something you love. This block is absolutely beautiful as it is! Christmas decorations with the Scandinavian look only use red and white. Your block reminded me of that.

You asked, so -- I think you need more of a feature fabric for the square in the center. I've only made one Swoon block, but I used more fabrics than you have. Have you seen the Dutch Rose on the Double Nickel blog?

I really like that pattern and it will be pretty in a gentler way if you continue.

Ditto from me! And if you do choose to add another fabric, I would favor gold metallic on red over silver.

Sorry, I don't like it. It needs some green.

Try some different greens, maybe a forest green, or one with a turquoise tint, or a soft light green. There are many greens to choose from and I think you need green if you want it to read Christmas.

I agree. I'd go with it as it is. Lovely color combo!

I like it like it is, too. Could you safety pin something green on it for Christmas and the rest of the time take it off and have it year round?
