I did not read all the posts and if someone already suggested this, ignore my post. If you have lots of the green and cream left, try folding prairie points the size you need. Put the bottom raw edge of the prairie point in the seam when you sew on a plain cream border. Then just flip up the prairie points to lay on the cream and stitch the edge down. All you would then have to do is piece the corners. Just a thought.
