Default Civil War Quilt

A recent thread about Civil War quilts made me do some research and I discovered southern Gun Boat quilts. Has anyone made one of these? Could you share anything about your experience?

Hi.. I really got interested in Civil War Quilts after finishing my Dear Jane..I was making a Civil War Cot Quilt and on the website was the description of Gun Boat Quilts..They were called that because the southern women made the quilts and raffeled them off to purchase gunboats. They look like Medallion Quilts and are very beautiful. I just Googled Free Gunboad Quilt Pattern and several showed up. Goood luck with your quilt and please post a picture of it when you have it finished.

No, I'm just interested in other's experiences. I'm not planing on making one. The examples I saw were absolutely beautiful - among the most beautiful of the medallion quilts I have seen.
