Are there other fabric stores in your area? One of the things that really bothers me about Walmart closing their fabric departments is that they ran all the mom-n-pop fabric stores out of business and now folks are left to the internet or travelling for sewing basics.

Ours was remodeled last year and now is less than a third fabric. No more real art supplies either, just row after row of pricey scrapbooking doodads. The cutting table gets so backed up that they put in a mumber machine like you use in delis.

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry to hear that! I would be so upset to lose my J's. It's so scary about all these places closing!

There are some other fabric shops in the area, but I usually get the best deals at J's. I was at Walmart yesterday and even though we are in an Amish community and we are keeping out fabric department it has shrunk about a third too. The LQS we have are pretty expensive and don't have the selection of J's
