Making my first quilt and marking it and picked up the template pencil, any ideas how to get it out. Only marked one square(thank goodness):)

Try Oxyclean Maxforce spray - blue bottle w/red top and then soak in Oxyclean powder and warm water. Fingers crossed this works - worked when some of my marks didn't wash out from a yellow quilters pencil the first washing.

Is the template pencil oily/greasy? Can your quilt be washed when you finish it?

What is the template pencil made out of? Can you call the manufacturer and get some help? :D:D:D

Try erasing it from the fabric with a regular pencil eraser. Sometimes that works!! :-)

dawn dish soap will 'cut' the grease...unfortunately template pencils and ... grease pencils...i would try working dawn into the marks and rinsing in hot water, to break down and wash away the grease.

Hairspray is known to take graphite marks out of fabric.
