There are some neat directories that list Quilt Shops by state, city, and area. I kept one in my car for a long time, so that I would have it for road trips to find the quilt shops in every area. Some Quilt Shops have the directories for sale.

Ever fly into Mac Arthur in NY? Come on over for a cuppa tea or coffee....or drive out to Pieceful Quilting in Riverhead.

hello-
send us photos of you in front of the shop and we can pretend to be there with you. I would recommend "The Quilt Place" in Rockledge, Florida and "Creations" in Kerville, Texas.

Kevin,

When you one to Detroit, let me know. There are a couple of shops that I would love to show you. One in Tecumseh, Fenton, and Berkley. Those are my favorites.

If you fly into Boston you can take commuter rail to Franklin Center (about 45-50 minutes) and walk across the street to Emma's Quilt Cupboard & Sewing Center. It's a cute shop with helpful people. There's a nice coffee shop within walking distance too Dolce Vita.

Thanks!! I'll have to check them out the next time I go visit my son who's in college out there. He lives in Wyoming. I've been to the one near his apartment in Wyoming - forgot the name. small fabric collection but they also sell sewing machines.

Jumping in late here, but if you fly into Philadelphia there is The Little Shop in Haddonfield, NJ; Olde City Quilts in Burlington, NJ and Pennington Quilt Works in Pennington, NJ. The first 2 are (relatively) easily gotten to via public transportation (train/subway) directly from the airport. Happy travels.
