Default advise on quilting a log cabin (barn raising)

I have finished a quilt top for my sisters 50 th birthday, The colors are peach and mint green. Now I am pondering the quilting pattern.I thought about running feathers in the greens and maybe sid on the peach colors.I haven't quilted a log cabin befor so any advise would be wonderful and thanks in advance. Also my bargello is coming along fine I have 14 rows done and my husband looked at it tonight and said it is a work of art, which made me smile. He is usually so quile about everything.

here are some log cabins quilted by Charismah that might give you some ideas:

Feathers would be very pretty. If you can find a variegated thread in peach and green to quilt with I would try that. I depends on how much you want the quilting to show.

Are you quilting by hand or a domestic machine? Or do you have a long arm? I like feathers in the lightest part , and swirls in the darker side.

Default need advise

I have just finished a log cabbin, peach and green (barn raising) for my sisters 50th. I am now seeking advise on quilting it. I have not ever quilted a log cabin, what is a good quilting design for this pattern?I thought about doing feathers in the green but that is as far as I have though.

difficult without seeing a picture to know what areas might have possibiities. Most log cabins are quiltinged in the ditch or some have concentric circles over the block.

I am no expert on this at all, but you might go to our Gallery of Quilts and see how others have quilted their log cabins.

look through the gallery's and do a log-cabin quilt search- for inspiration- there are lots of pictures to browse with all kinds of different quilting to admire---maybe something will (click) & be just what you want.
