Help! I just purchased a used embroidery machine with a
PED -Basic USB. Probably not too good of an idea since I'm not that savy on the computer. But my question is; can I use a CD with embroidery designs on it, to put it on the card that goes in sewing machine? I'm sure that what I'm suppose to do; but the directions aren't very clear. I've looked on ebay and found some very nice designs but they are on CD, not on the card that goes into the machine. Probably need to take some lessons, huh?

If PED-Basic allows you to save to the card (which it should), you can buy a CD or designs from the internet, save them to your computer and then to the card. When you save to the card, it erases what has previously been save, so make sure you save everything to your computer first so you don't lose them.

Thanks for the reply. So the card will hold only one design at a time?

I want to start with redwork designs. Thought that would be easiest. I wouldn't have to change threads.

I'm not sure if it loads more than one or not--my regular PED cards can hold more than one design, but you have to put them on all at one time. If you try to put one and then do another one, it will erase the first one. I've not seen PED-Basic in operation, so don't know what steps you need to take to load more than one. You should have some sort of manual with it, or google it and hopefully you can find that out. I wish I could be more help.

I hope I don't confuse you more, but it depends on the size of the pattern that you put on the card. If it is a larger pattern then you will only get one on the card, the smaller the design the more designs you can store on the card.

As for a CD , you would put the cd in your computer and then you should be able to hook up your Ped basic to the computer, when you go to the search button ( on Ped basic) look for your CD rom and move the patterns to the Ped basic
Have fun they are addicting

I can transfer multiple designs to my card with PED basic, but when I download a new set of designs to the card the program erases the designs previously on the card. I save all my designs to cd so I won't lose them.
