What can I do with 104 5" (unfinished) squares?
#1
:-D I have to stay away from ebay. I bought 104 5" cut squares. Remember, I'm just working on my very first quilt at the moment, so I really don't know what I'm doing at all. Can you help me start dreaming about what to do with these squares?

You can also put two of them right sides together, draw a line corner to corner and sew a 1/4" on either side from the line..cut on the line and you have (2) 1/2 square triangles.
You can also sew two of them together and then cut them in half long ways...and you will have multi colored rectangles..
You can sew sashes around them and make a cute scrap quilt...
You will get many suggestions  try googling charm square quilts, and see what patterns come up too!

Figure how how many rows vertical and horizontal you can get out of 104 - 5 inchers (remembering the 1/4" seam. I would have an absolute ball with this one! Actually I am making a Floating Star quilt right now and have to cut out over 800 2-11/2x2-1/2 squares for half-squares. I'm loving it. What, also, is a lot of fun (unless you have a dog that has a fetish for quilts, done or not) is to lay the squares on the floor and just look at them and then decide how you want to place them, etc.
Preparation is 90% of the fun! Edie
