Default Sewing with Waxed Canvas

I bought some waxed canvas to make a messenger bag for my DGD. I want to line it and trim it with some quilt pieces. I've never sewn on waxed canvas before. Does anyone have some tips? Thanks.

It is going to be stiff so I might do the fabric/lining with seams to the outside and them cover the seams with binding. I think trying to turn waxed canvas inside out would leave it wrinkled and be problematic.

If you are a member of craftsy, check out the FREEMONT BAG CLASS. IT is AN EXCELLENT class.
Hiave fun. I think these bags are so cool...especially with leather and high quality studs, buckles and d rings.

There's a wonderful group on FB, they talk about sewing with waxed canvas all the time, I'm sure they can give you some tips. The name of the group is "Creative Bag Making". A lot of them are professionals and they're all super nice.

Sara Lawson from Sew Sweetness offers many tips and tricks for sewing with different types of fabrics. She focuses mainly on bag making but on her you tube show "Sewcial Sunday" she takes questions and I have learned a lot from her about sewing with laminated fabric, canvas , etc.
