    Smile Lighthouse Quilt pattern

I have a request to make a California King quilt with a lighthouse or a nautical theme. Any ideas as to where I might find a pattern or a good picture to use as I design one?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. BettyBoop70

I googled "lighthouse quilt pattern" and found several websites you should check out. One was particularly interesting. It is "freequiltpatterns.info". WOW! Scroll down to the bottom of the page and there are free patterns from websites all over, all arranged in categories. I saw a couple nautical ones you'd probably like. Enjoy!

Recently I was searching the web for ideas for Free Motion Machine Embroidery and decided to look at stain glass patterns; I remember seeing several Lighthouse patterns that I thought would make a really nice applique project. Just an idea on another area to search.

I thought about finding a stripe and cutting it on the bias for the lighthouse.

Have a look at the 1999 Piecemakers calendar for some ideas. You'll need to scroll down to the correct year on the link. http://www.piecemakers.com/products/pm/calendars.html

Just so you know, there are now some beautiful batiks that have lighthouses on them that you could use in your borders or for your backing....or even blocks.
