Default Cutting Mat ?

I think it is time to purchase a new cutting mat but I was just wondering if there were any good uses for an old cutting mat.

I saved my old mat to square up my quilts or anytime I need to cut batting.

If you ever want to do chenille, the old mat can be cut into narrow strips to insert in the channels, so that you don't cut too far when cutting the rows. This is what I will do with part of my old mat when I finally get around to doing some chenille.

The other two suggestions are good one too, that I may use.
