Default like a kid in a candy shop

Yesterday went to a garage sale with me DH, one that said sewing machines, craft supplies and a few other 'man' type things. What a treat, yard was filled with about 100 boxes of crafting things material etc--family said it was 22 yrs worth of crafting. The one problem was that all of the boxes were on the ground and my old body doesn't handle that well. Not many 'man' things so DH, bless his heart did spend close to an hour looking for quilting things and material for me. Some things had been stored somewhere wet and were mildew and smelling musty but that was a small fraction. Lady told us that any of the toes of books or patterns were $10 a tote. Here's where my mother lode comes in thanks to DH. Here' what I got:

a full tote of books, most brand new and cheapest priced was 16.95. includes a commemorative coffee table book of 911 quilts!
new hanging spool holder, 20 new spools of quilting thread, 4 quilt patterns
8 yds of beautiful cheater material, 2-3yds of different cottons, 4-3yds of different flannels
and
12 finished strips of 16 sq-12"blocks. made of vintage material, already sewn into strips the width of King size quilt. Also, new full size batting. DH was very proud of himself, he did the dealing and got it all for$10!! When we got in the car, he looked over and said.... and, we got the tote FREE!!!

Lady said they would have even more next weekend--DH who complains about my stash getting so big said why don't you go next wk with one of our girls or g-daughters. That was as big of a shock as my mother lode of goodies!

You taught DH well.. He knows the value of what you got.. He knew he was ahead if you bought the stuff there vs, the LQS.. Enjoy it.. and of course you will be going back for more.. Can't wait to hear..
