OUCH!!!! Now that really had to hurt. Hope your leg is better. I put a hand towel over my legs so I can catch all my threads and pins that I drop.

Yes, I tend to do the same thing. In the old days, the girls used to catch things by spreading their skirts and the boys used to clamp their legs. Goes to show how fashion dictates our methods. Hope the wound is healing well.

Just dropped my 3" sissors from the ironing board when cutting thread and strings from a quilt. Fell between my little toe and next one. Really hurt but sucked it up and went on. Felt moisture and yes it was red!! Happened about a week ago and it is still bruised and sore. No stitches, but it fell point down. We all need to be careful with our toys.

Just as an aside to the seriousness of the cut, tetanus as a result is more serious. My doctor told me late last week that Medicare ( for we older citizens) doesn't pay for the whooping cough shot just on request, but will pay for the tetanus shot WHEN NEEDED FOR AN INJURY, and the pertussis is given along with the tetanus, PT.

Sorry for your injury, let's all be careful.

Just got my booster for tetanus and pertussis last month. Who knew quilting could be so hazardous? I hope your boo boo heals up quickly. Natural instincts are hard to resist. I sewed through the edge of my finger and my natural instinct was to yank my hand away from the pain. I would have only had a small puncture wound but instead I got a tear through to the edge of my finger. It took about a month before the finger was feeling somewhat better.

Me, too. Cutting on foil to supposedly sharpen the rotary blade and sliced right into my finger. Probably needed stitches but I closed it with butterfly strips. I did learn my lesson, though; I'm more careful now.

Now that I'm fast approaching 70, I've learned to just let things *drop* and move out of the way when possible. LOL Hope you heal quickly.
