Default Daylight Slimline LED Floor lamp

In October of 2016 I purchased a Daylight Slimline LED Floor lamp at the recommendation of Bonnie Hunter on her site. It was a wonderful lamp, but it has stopped working. The warranty is only for 2 years. I took it to a local electrician and he said he couldn't do anything with it, it wasn't receiving power from the source. This model has been discontinued by the company. Did anyone else have any experience with this lamp or had a problem and were able to have it repaired? Thanks for any input.

not familiar with this one, but my Ott floor lamp has been fritzy--sometimes works, sometimes not. Bulbs are $32 each! So I replaced that and still fritzy---my electrician son says it's probably the ballast in the fixture and almost easier and cheaper just to replace. Could your lamp use a ballast and need replacing of that?

I don't know anything about the lamp, but you don't have to have a special lamp to get daylight-quality light.

Nearly all modern LED and CFL bulbs have daylight ratings on the packaging that show you the range of light colors, from the yellowish incandescent to the bright "daylight" white. The ratings are given as "temperatures", and you can choose your preferred temperature for any fixture in your home or office.

If you're committed to fixing the lamp, try a different electrician, or maybe look for someone who specifically repairs lamps.

I would just watch for sales and buy a new lamp. Ottlite has sales pretty regularly as does Joann's. My guess is that it may cost more to repair the one you have than to just purchase a new lamp. Last month during the "black friday in July sales" I got the Ottlite floor lamp with the magnifier and clip from Joann's for 62.00. Amazon has it now for 109.00. Just an idea. I hate that it is so hard to get anything repaired anymore.

The reviews of the Slimline when people first got them were wonderful, then bad reviews started coming in after the light quit working some less then a year. Bonnie Hunter is given items to blog about so her followers will buy them. It seems she never blogs about any problems with the items that show up after praising them though.

Thanks all for your replies. I went online today and Joanns has 60% off the lights and no shipping if picked up. THat's what I did. The new Daylight lamp replacing one like mine was $260 and this was $69 with tax, so I'm hoping it will be a good light.

I bought the Slimline LED lamp. It started blinking off and on after a year. The LED lights lit up so 'technically' they were still working. Ugh. It was expensive. DH has a LED light bar floor lamp bought at Walmart for $49 he used at work. Works great, as much light as the Slimline. He retired and brought the light home the same week I threw the Slimline in the trash.

The inventors who made the first light bulb made it to last. And it lasted and lasted and well..you know there were no more profits from additional sales to the same person. So they went back to the drawing board and came up with :"planned obsolesence". I can't seem to spell that.

That is planned into the design so that future sales are ensured. I just hate this. My microwave hit the end of the warranty and developed a dreadful noise.

I would contact the company and politely let them know you are unhappy and plan it post about it. It may come to nothing but at least you will have some satisfaction in getting it off your chest.

Have you contacted Daylight. They are a wonderful company to deal with. I have several of their lights, including the one you have. I've had mine for about 4 years and its on constantly with no problems. No matter what the warranty, I'd still contact them.
