Welcome to the board, from Oregon.

I really do not have a answer to your question. But 'deltaquilter' posted this yesterday ~ http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t214001.html
You could PM (private message) her and see how she did such a beautiful job.

To send her a PM, just click on her name and a sub-screen open and go from there. Good luck

Do you want to transfer a photo of your dog onto fabric? or do you want to turn it into an appliqué of the photo?

One method would be to take the photo to a shop & have it enlarged to the size you want in black & white. Then take a marker & trace out simplified shapes of each colour. Place your tracing onto a light box & trace out the shapes from the back onto a fusible. (if you just trace onto fusible from the right side your photo will end up in reversed position) Choose your fabrics for the different shapes & iron the fusible to the back. Cut the shapes out & lay your pieces out on a background & fuse down, and then finish the edges with a satin stitch or zig zag or buttonhole stitch. Does this help you any?
