I like to use a flannel backed plastic tablecloth. You can buy them at the dollar store. The blocks cling to the flannel and there you go!

Never thought of those, but what an idea. Excellent. Plus you could hang them on the wall also..

The dollar store tablecloths are thin. I like the heavyer ones for about 5 dollars. I hang mine on a curtain rod that I pin the table cloth to.

Very Nice. See we can always think of alternative measures to save money to buy more material to quilt.

Clever idea! A design wall changes how you look at your quilts from the very start. I love mine!

I just started using one and I think they show what its going to look like before you sew, that way you can make changes if you want.

It sounds good for a small one. I wanted a large one so
I took 2 half-inch dowel rods that were laying around in
the garage and had about a 2 yard piece of wool that I had
laying around in my material cloest and I wrapped it over the rods for the top and push pinned it to the wall and I can now stick pieces on it see how they look or I can pin blocks of a quilt to it as I finish them to see how they look. Since I have 2 quilts started I made another one and used some old muslin that I had.
