This story is so cool I just had to share. Our church ladies starting making quilts for a pediatric hospice in So. CA, and many of them were new to sewing and quilting. My 83 year old mother came to "hang out" and "watch" while the rest of us sewed. My friend Annie and I were the teachers, and we had about 14 ladies that were learning. Pretty soon, whenever I got up from my machine to help someone, Mom would sit down and sew a little bit. Well, by the end of the class, she was doing all the sewing on "our" quilt. Two weeks after we finished the quilts, Mom announces that she went and bought a new sewing machine, cutting mat, rotary cutter, etc., etc., and she wants to take the next class. So, ladies, if she can start at 83, anyone can do this!
