Someone told my sister about this don't know if it works, thinking about trying it and was wondering if anyone out there has heard of it or done it.
She was told to stabelize biaz binding you can.... desolve the tearaway stableizer in a jar... shake it up really well, make sure it is good and desloved.... then put your on the biaz binding in the jar, shake it up, let it sit for a few min. then get it out and let it dry.
she was told this works really well. Any one tryed this?

Why wouldn't you just use starch which would be cheaper?

I've heard of doing this with Free standing lace to give a bit of "body" back to it, but it seems like over kill for binding. I've never stablized mine. What seems to be causing you trouble?

You can use starch...that works great but,
This hint is for those scraps of water soluable stabilizer that you would like to use instead of throwing in the trash.
I wouldn't buy some or cut off the roll, but would use my scraps of stabilizer in this way...

I have never heard of stableizing binding. Is it for a fold over from the back fabric type of binding?

I have used scraps of water soluable stabilizer (sp??) instead of starch. It works really well. It takes practice to know what ratio of water and stabilizer to use. more stabilizer--the stiffer the fabric will be.

Actually I am not having any problems, buuuut bias is so tricky, I thought well if it worked why not. I would only use the pieces trimmed away because it is expensive. I didn't want to waste my time and effort if it wasn't a good thing to do.

I JUST BOUGHT A BIAS BINDER FOOT FOR MY MACHINE AND IT WORKS GREAT. HOWEVER, NOT FOR REALLY PUFFY QUILTS AS I DON'T THINK IT WOULD FIT. THIS FOOT WORKS FOR THE THINEST BATTING WHEN YOU MAKE PLACEMATS. SEW AROUND JUST ONCE, FRONT AND BACK BOTH GET CAUGHT IN THE SAME LINE OF STITCHING. YOU CAN USE A DECORATIVE STITCH IF YOU WANT. MY FOOT IS ADJUSTABLE FOR DIFFERENT WIDTHS OF BINDING.

That sound like a nice foot to have.

What machine do you have?
