My husband gave me a new sewing machine and on Christmas Eve at the church I pastor
gives the open collection to the priest. I got over a $100 which I plan to use it to buy fabric. The best gift of all is the birth of the Saviour and for me it's the honour of doing the service and giving my congregation Holy Communion.

So overwhelmed, don't know where to start. Any suggestions?
Also got my engagement ring remounted last month, so that was part of my gift too.
Since Joanne's has regular sales & coupons why not just take your time, don't spend them all at once. Go in & browse, browse the website & just hold onto your gift cards. As the year goes on you may spot some fabulous new item you really want. No need to go buy a bunch of stuff you really don't need just to spend your gift cards.

First year in 30 years that I have not received something - even just a seam ripper or needles - for Christmas, and I was so glad! I am beyond my distant (in mileage) family having a clue what to send, and usually get what I have to have for myself.
This year was heavy on sweets, oddly, as if I need THAT either! But every one of the sweets were well thought out and were those things I love, my favorites; I appreciated them all.

No, just a towel and house slippers. We've been sick since Sunday night.

Lynnie, I agree with ckcowl - if there's not something you know you want or need, hang onto those gift cards. Just be sure you don't misplace them. I had a gift card last year that I think got tossed with the wrapping paper.

Local JA's don't carry them, but I have been looking @ the chenille cutter on their website, also when Best Press is on sale you could get that if you like it or have wanted to try it. It's much cheaper ordering online, which I do when shipping is free. A gallon will be about $40-$45 when it's on special.

Hubby bought me 1 yd each of 9 diff Christmas fabric. I love to collect Christmas Fabric. I hope I can start using some of it at least by jan. and use a little each month form my stash. He also had all my presents wrapped in fabric, some from the yardage mentioned above.
From another family member I got an assortment of cheese and summer sausage, I hate cheese and have never eaten a cheeseburger or grilled cheese in all my 64 yrs. Now that's funny but true.

Oops - forgot to say that I didn't get anything quilty for Christmas, but didn't expect to. Guess I am picky, so prefer to get those things myself. Am currently considering two pricey items: a Heavenly Sewing chair, and a Bernina 530 with BSR. Haven't made any decisions yet.

I think it may already be posted somewhere here, but I did get an very unexpected gift from my son--a 401a fully operational, in a beautiful desk with accompanying stool and all the accessories. I cannot wait to get in there in try it out--he made me find electricity for it (an old farmhouse here, and they had brought it into the foyer to hide it from me, so when our party was over last night he said, "Come on, Mom, one more gift.); and had me try it out. It hums just like brand new and I LOVE IT.

Merry Christmas everyone. I was most lucky and got a craft lamp from my sister. It was badly needed because of the lighting in my dining room which doubles as my sewing room. My embellisher was a birthday/Xmas gift from hubby. The best bit of Christmas Day has been spending parts of it seeing the grandchildren open their gifts - first by FaceTime link to Australia and then locally with the others.

My daughter gave me a nice cash gift to put towards the Phaff 4.2 I am saving for. I was thrilled.
