Going to a 3 day retreat next week.
My goal is to finish some UFO's. My question is.....which ones of my hundreds (no exageration) of projects should I take?

Also...I need to make name tags for the group...any new ideas out there for that? It needs to be fast but cute.
Hitting head on table...how do I get hooked into these things??

I'm nowhere near the level of 100's of UFO's, but to manage my stashlette I bag them as kits (you could do the first 10 or so you come to) then prioritize those. Are there deadlines involved? Is there one you've just been waiting to do? On my table I have a wooden crate with baggies sitting upright. They are in the order I think I should do them. Pretty often another project will cut in line, but at least it makes me think I'm organized! Those that have no deadline or that have simply not made it to the top of the list are in tubs and are more out of sight. When the crate starts getting empty (hey! It happens!) I pull out a few from the tubs and put them in line in the crate. Works for me!

A little grandson is coming tomorrow. He needs a sleep mat cover for pre-school. I have finally reached the point where I have laid out several for him to choose from - cowboys, bugs, fish, animals - and won't have to run to the store to do this little project. That's FUN! :)

Have fun, fun, fun! My LQS had it's first retreat in July. It was so successful the shop owner has already booked the same location for retreats in January and July 2012. Maybe I'll eventually get to go to one of those!

Good ideas. Thanks.
Nope...not really any deadlines. Just things I want to complete before leaving this earth.

I have nine grandchildren, 5 of them adopted within the last few years. Two of the girls (from Russia..ages 14 and 17)...really need a quilt from Oma. They know that their siblings each have quilts and they want one also.

My daughter adopted two girls (disruption adoptions) because she and her husband could not get pregnant. Yep...you guessed it...she just had a baby boy 5 months ago  . Love the little buggar but I have to make her girls a quilt first. They take everything sooo personally and would not understand why baby gets a quilt before them.

I sew so many samples for Quilt Market to show the new fabric line for spring and fall so this is why "my" projects are always on the back burner. But I plan to work on only my things next week during retreat.

Sounds like you have your projects! Two teen girl quilts and perhaps a baby boy one, too. Now to decide what those will be ..... fun!

I don't know if this has been thought up but. .

At the retreat I went to last winter, the name tags were necklaces.

it was easy to put on every day , and we left them at our seats for lunch and hung them on our beds at night.

good luck coming up with something fun and HAVE FUN @your retreat! :D :D
