Ok, I just called my bil and he said she likes purple, and "girly" colors. So if you know the kind of designs that would fit that age and you have some you'd like to sell, please pm me!

My Dd is 16 and is into the hippy stuff. Bright colors, peace signs and the bright big flowers. she says most girls seem to like this style.

I think something maybe a Batik would be cool. They come in such beautiful and bright colors and have a 'tie-died' appearance. Sorry about your loss. I know that it's really hard.

My dd is 11 and she loves batiks, purples and blues. Can you take her out and pass by the fabric store and get a feel of what she likes?

She's in CA and I'm in WI, so I'm doing this long-distance. (and I have to say, what makes this harder is that I'm feeling a coolness from her.... my sister was good at complaining about everything and everybody - usually not based on reality. So I'm feeling like I'm going up against a wall. At least I'm making the effort - I have to remind myself of that)

Sharon mentioned making a tote.... now I'm wondering if that would be nicer than a pillowcase.... maybe something she'd like better?

Ok, if I make a tote bag, is there an easy online tute that you know about??

I would suggest finding out her tastes. I know a few girls that like the old lady type stuff. and others who go more for the bold bright solid colors. you know her likes and dislikes, trust your instincts.

I think either one would be very nice but at her age she may like the tote more. I am sure there must be a very easy pattern on here you could find.
