Seems a bit tedious to have to reblock it every time you wash it. No thanks. LOL

Cattywompus-one of my favorite words, my Dad used to say that. No way would I block a quilt every time I washed it. It seems if you prewashed your fabric and cut it on the grain, and your blocks were even, there would be no need. But then, I only dust every two weeks, so I would be the wrong person to make commentary on someone who wanted to Martha Stewart it up.

I block the quilts I show because I like having them hang straight, and blocking helps that. It takes about an hour to do a queen size. It can be back breaking but it's worth it, even if it's just to see the quilt laid out flat so I can admire it.

Quilts that I put on my bed do not get blocked.

Duh! Of course. It's just that it's been decades since I've lived in a place with any carpeting I totally forgot about it.

I have never blocked one of my quilts. My quilts are meant to be used. Wouldn't you have to do to this after every time it was washed? I don't see the point.
