I have a book with a Kathryn wheel quilt pattern. What I was hoping for is a pattern in electronic version so I could "test" my color combo on my computer. Unfortunately, the wedding this is for is in 2 weeks.
EEk

It is Kathryn Wheel- "symmetrical pattern creates illusion of curved lines. it is 4 large blocks made of 5 rows each, but 3 of the rows are thinner than the other 2 and I can tell if it is by half or not. Basically they are HSTs with what look like HRTs that have one half divided in half again. Its a small, old book, and I don't know if a pic will turn out...

Darn it. I don't think it should be uploaded to the group because if it's in a book, it's copyrighted. The only references I can find to "Catherine Wheel" is for yarn and fine crochet stitches and even those look nothing alike. The yarn design I found is interlocked hexagons and the tatting is very open sort of hexagon loops. I even found a cupcake frosted with a Catherine Wheel design which looked like the open tatting loops sort of.

You can email me direct with it and I'll let you know if I can work it up in Quilt Pro. [email protected]

You can post a picture of the pattern... that is not violating any board rule. It may be known by a different name, and be copy right free

I think I found it or at least Barbara Brackman's version of it. Is this it?

I suppose, I can just copy and cut it out and see if the rectangles are just double the size of the squares. That would probably be easiest, as the book is from 1981!

So, can anyone tell what the width of the rectangles should be respective of the squares? It appears to be more than half, that is, two rectangles next to each other seem bigger than the square to me, but by how much I can't tell

Please let us know what you find out about this pattern. I would like to know what it is as well. It looks like a version of Storm at Sea.
