Well I don't hide anything because we have a joint account....and I guess I would put my DH in the enabler category...he doesn't say either way...But if there is something I really want..he always wants me to have it because he says I work to hard and do everything for everyone else..so I deserve it. He hates it when I deny myself something I want/need.

Does he realize how much quilting costs...NO. Does he really care....probably not.

But he also plays paintball.....football stuff for he and the boys...He and my boys do many activities together and they are not cheap...so I never say anything to him.

It's a win-win

I do both. When I buy on sale I show him all of it. When I don't buy it on sale it just ends up in the house. He doesn't care that I quilt and buy things, but sometimes the eyebrows go up, so those "eyebrow raisers" go in my work bag and then into"inventory.

He would never actually get around to really having a fit since he has bought a 57 Chevy and a corvette and I could NEVER buy that much fabric in one setting

My DH knows how much I spend because we have joint checking, savings, everything. He doesn't mind at all. we have both worked hard for what we have and spending some of it is not a problem.

My mom's favorite saying is..."it's easier to get forgiveness, than to get permission". I guess that's why she and my dad have been married for 63 years. haha

I do what Conniequilts does. If its on sale then I show my DH what I bought & if not then, it goes into my sewing room either via store bag or my backpack. Usually he does not complain, when he does I ask him, how many fishing poles does one person need or exactly how many tool boxes do you own again. Usually, he stops & goes & watch tv. I take care of him & our four year old. (Both are diabetic). So I don't work outside of the home. The only money I have is from stuff that I sell on the board.   Thanks for letting me chat.

Have a blessed day.

Never have and never will. I feel sorry for those who have to hide something they love to do from someone who is supposed to appreciate them and love them. Sorry if this sounds offensive; I don't mean to be. I feel a relationship has to be open and honest. Sorry.

My husband could not care less what I buy. We have joint accounts at which he never looks. We are both cheap by nature, so there is never a problem.

As long as whatever I buy does not block his view of the tv, he doesn't care...lol
