I think they would do well in a Disappearing 9 Patch.

Does it make a difference if the stripes run vertically or horizontally? Is one easier to use than the other?

When I had my dyeing thing going, I would do that technique to similate landscape elements. The blue green one reminds me of the mountain/lake scene on my to do list, it would be perfect as the backdrop. The cocoa/blue one would be great for tree trunk and weathered wood. They are just gorgeous.

Yes, I like them. I've used them in landscape quilts.

LOVE all batiks - stripey or otherwise, lol. I like using them in appliques - especially flower appliques.....!

Where do you find your gradient fabrics??

I love them. They make amazing sashing and borders cut on the length. A whole lot of payoff for very little work. And they are fabulous background pieces for landscape hangings and art quilts. Wonderful for miniature landscapes and postcards......the list is endless. I've used the last one personally as background for a simple sailboat wallhanging. It's a beautiful versatile piece of fabric.

They would be great to cut into square and vary the direction for a quick 'rail fence" quilt, or cut them with a kalidescope ruler for a cool 'spider wed' effect.
